This is the blog you need to send your whole family with a “hint-hint.”
When it comes to buying gifts during the holiday season, you cannot go wrong with workwear.
Well, I suppose you could…
You could buy factory seconds, discounted or otherwise illegitimate workwear masquerading as the real thing from the wrong store.
Because the reputation and demands for workwear have grown the last few decades, even breaking into subcultures, many have tried to copy the look of workwear. Imposters have filled the racks of department stores with clothing labeled as workwear, but you have to shop from a legitimate retailer to be sure.
We’re fans of All Seasons Workwear, of course, but feel free to shop around the internet. We stand by our reputation.
For a surefire smile at the gift-giving time, you can’t go wrong with the brands and products that sell the best. That’s why our Christmas list — which works for Hanukkah, Kwanza, Winter Solstice, New Years, Birthdays, and aw-heck-I-just-love-ya — is only the best of the best.
This blog is chocked full of links to the brands and products that we sell the most. We know because we pulled reams of data to create this blog.
If you want to save time, scan the subheadings below for the one that fits you. Follow the links. Pick the sizes you need, and then make sure you have a full battery and plenty of memory on your camera to capture all the smiles at present-opening time.
With this blog in hand, you’re gonna win the title of best-gift-giver this year.
Let’s start with what people need most this winter, jackets. Then we’ll work our way closer to the body. There are even some stocking stuffers at the end!
Jackets for Both Genders
As a category, probably none is more contested than jackets. Opinions vary widely, and brands matter a lot. Hardworking folks wear their favorite brands like family crests as if they had something to do with building the company.
For some families, it’s true.
All that said, there are two brands which make the top of our jacket sales in the men’s category year after year. It may surprise you to learn it’s not Dickies and Carhartt.
Dickies makes great outerwear, but our shoppers gravitate to Berne and Carhartt more than any other jacket brand. If you really want to get a popular jacket from Dickies, take a look at the insulated Eisenhower jacket for men, a fan favorite due to the series Mr. Robot.
That said, most men tend towards one of three jackets, starting with the Carhartt sandstone duck active jacket. It’s quilt-flannel-lined, and has a built-in hood, making it about the coziest thing in your life.
No wonder guys like to put this on first thing in the morning. It’s the closest thing to staying in bed all day. With 12 ounces of ring-spun duck for a shell, it’s darn tough too.
The cuffs and waist won’t blow out after one season, either. For fans of made-in-America clothing, this is the way to go.

If you want something a little lighter, Berne offers an original quilt-lined hooded jacket with a 10-ounce duck, lined with a quilted liner to keep you nearly as toasty.
For someone who tends to stay warm on the job, this jacket makes a more comfortable option than the Carhartt jacket above. Both will take winter-after-winter of hard work, though.

Berne also offers a heavier coat, similar to the Carhartt version above, the Berne original washed quilt-lined hooded jacket. Like the Carhartt jacket, it’s carved out of 12-ounce cotton duck, which is nearly bulletproof.
That’s a gross exaggeration, sorry, but it’s fair to say this jacket darn tough. And, just like Carhartt, Berne kept all the toughness from being stiff by beating up the duck with an enzyme wash before cutting the jacket so it moves more easily.
The comparisons don’t end there. Berne’s jacket is insulated, hooded, and reinforced like they mean it. Not only is it triple-stitched, but it’s also riveted in all the right places.
What will swing some towards to Carhartt over Berne, in this case, is the Made in America badge of honor worn by some of Carhartt’s products. Berne is manufactured abroad.

For the ladies, there is one clear winner in the jacket department. It’s like there were no other options than the Berne barn coat.
This style has become quite popular despite being a timeless look. It’s so popular right now, we wrote a whole blog about barn coats. <— Don’t read that blog now, though. You have gifts to buy.
The ladies barn coat from Berne is the wolf in sheets clothing. Bragging 10-ounces of cotton duck, triple-stitching, a flannel-lined hood, and 11 pockets, this jacket is ready for anything. And yet, it’s not built like a tank.
Cut to compliment a woman’s physique, and appropriately tailored to move with ease, it’s easy to see why we can’t keep the Berne Barn Jacket on our shelves.

Workwear Shirts for Men…
What about what you should wear under those jackets? There are so many options for workwear shirts for men, it’s hard to know where to start.
Most men start with a brand they trust, which is why Red Kap floats to the surface time after time. Men will appreciate how Red Kap’s woven shirts don’t billow, but they also don’t come in too tight so they always look professional, but never stiff.
The two we sell the most of are both from Red Kap. The Red Kap poplin long-sleeve is perfect for winter work in cool or cold environments.
If you or your gift-receiver prefers a short sleeve for any reason, Red Kap’s only competition in this category is themselves.

Their short-sleeved version of the same shirt also makes the top of our best seller list for all the same reasons, but for warmer climates or for men who tend to stay warm in any weather.

Work Wear Skirts for Women…
When it comes to getting the workwear skirt right, nobody does it better than Edwards. Most folks know Edwards for their cardigans, but some people know them for their chino skirts.
They offer two designs, a long version, and mid-length chino skirt. Both are top sellers for us because they wear comfortably, but stylishly too.
Their flat-front designs will last for years in timeless fashionability, which matters when you’re buying a product that lasts longer than the rest.
Their mid-length lands at a generous 25 inches and the long-length version is not all the way to the floor, only 35 inches so you can still move.
Wear these skirts days after day, soil them, launder them, they will take everything you’ve got and still keep you feeling confident every day at work.

Backpacker Brand of Workwear
Proof positive that workwear doesn’t have to be all duck and dungarees, Backpacker brand of workwear has recently partnered with All Seasons Uniforms.
While they’re not yet on the top seller’s list, it’s not due to their rising popularity. Products from Backpacker are starting to climb the ranks pretty fast.
Reason being? They offer a more fashionable look, not too relaxed, but never stiff or boring. Also, one need not break the bank to get into Backpacker’s clothes.
For the winter season, take a look at Backpacker’s easy-does-it long sleeve shirts for men or women. They’re casual, super soft because of the microfiber, and nicely fitted.
If you are looking for something a little tougher, but still fashionable, and fitted, try Backpacker’s Nailhead long sleeves, also in men’s and women’s.
For a more executive look, Backpacker’s Wayfarer rip-stop long sleeves offer comfort and style in a durable (that’s the ripstop part) design. They make this shirt in men’s and women’s too.
Little touches like the contrasted yokes and necks in these shirts give them a unique look that doesn’t scream “look at me,” because they stay hidden until you open your collar or roll up your sleeves.
Don’t forget to scoop up some stocking stuffers! We have cotton, wool, and blended socks to keep toes warm and dry this winter. The only company we carry is the Extra Wide Sock Company because they make socks that last a lifetime.
That’s a huge list of options for you to get shopping. Don’t forget to plan for shipping time!
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us for help. We’ve been putting happy shoppers in reliable workwear since the ’80s.
We know everything there is to know about the brands we carry and would be happy to help you find the exact right gift for your loved one.
